Security FAQs
The following are a list of frequently asked questions regarding InGenius security:
Why do I need a third-party SSL certificate?
Browser security requires it. Because the InGenius UI is embedded within the CRM, most web browsers require InGenius to match the security level of the CRM.
Can I make the server externally accessible?
Yes. You are responsible for your own network and security, therefore you can decide to make the server that's running the InGenius service externally accessible.
Can I change the protocol the server uses for the web service?
Yes. The web service protocol is independent of the InGenius service.
Is InGenius FIPS compliant?
InGenius uses FIPS-compliant algorithms both for the storage of encrypted data as well as for communication with the Genesys switch.
How does the InGenius server talk to the CRM?
The InGenius service talks to the user's browser as opposed to the CRM.
What are the account requirements for the service account used for backups?
The InGenius server would need access to an email account for Loggers and Email Alerts.
